Polish Ya Peace by DevRock
"Polish Ya Peace" is a multifaceted poetry book and creative toolkit designed to ignite writer's creativity and self-discovery. I worked with the author to meticulously craft a cover design and book layout to enhance the reader's experience and reflect the essence of the literary content.
For the cover design of "Polish Ya Peace," the author wanted a crumpled paper aesthetic. I recommended incorporating the Japanese art of Kintsugi, which involves fixing broken pottery with gold, as it resonated with the book's theme of "polishing" and restoring one's inner peace. The resulting cover art seamlessly combines these elements to visually represent the book's concept and message.
For the interior of "Polish Ya Peace," the author envisioned a versatile writing tool but needed guidance on the page layout. I carefully listened to their vision for how writers would utilize the book and translated that into a cohesive and user-friendly design tailored specifically for writers.
